february 2004: battle of the italian merlots

This was our seminal tasting. No tasting notes were taken, but the seeds of monthly vinous fun were sown.

Best of tasting: Castello di Bossi "Girolamo" 1997. A super-Tuscan, made of 100% Merlot. Beautiful wine. About $50.
