David Hansen has been fascinated by the diversity and scope of the wine world since his time in college. His time earning a degree in Geography (University of North Texas, B.A., 1995) helped him to understand the importance of location -- the fact that so much of what makes things interesting and unique is where they are located in the world.
David previously spent a year as Wine Lead for a Central Market store in Texas, assisting consumers with wine recommendations, teaching introductory wine appreciation classes, and helping to diversify the store's wine selections.
He is working on completing his CSW certification from the Society of Wine Educators, and currently works as Market Research Manager for a national pharmacy chain, focusing on location research for new brick-and-mortar units.
Kristin Crane is the Marketing Director for davidjohnhansen.com, and is the voice of our social media accounts. She is also Digital Marketing Specialist for The Providence Foundation, and has worked creating restaurant industry content for companies such as Yelp Reservations and Upserve.
Kristin was first interested in learning about wine so that she wouldn't mistakenly order a buttery Chardonnay. She has been a regular at our monthly tastings from the very beginning, and her knowledge and palate have grown well beyond her original goal. She is particularly interested in how wine tells a story of a time and place, as well as the lives of the people who made it.
When not on Instagram, she can be found weaving and creating handmade textiles. Her textile work can be seen at kristincrane.com.
